Special Olympics Kentucky would like to say Thank You to everyone who participated in the 2013 Scarf Project. Special Olympics Kentucky received a total of 688 handmade black and grey scarves! All of the athletes, coaches, and volunteers were able to receive a scarf at Winter Games. Check back with us in the fall for 2014 colors!
The scarf project is a symbol of unity, community, and support within the Special Olympics movement. Voluteers hand-make scarves that are then donated and worn by all participants in the State Winter Games. The Scarf Project began with the 2009 World Winter Games in Boise, Idaho, and has spread to many states and a number of other countries.
