Notes: Mary is a longtime Special Olympics volunteer who has helped develop programs in two states (Virginia and Kentucky). She will be making her third coaching appearance in a World Summer Games, having served at the 1999 Games in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, N.C., and then as the head gymnastics coach for Team USA at the 2003 World Summer Games in Dublin, Ireland. Mary was also the head gymnastics coach for Team Kentucky at the 2006 Special Olympics USA National Games in Ames, Iowa. At those Games, her athletes dominated the meet. Philip Riley posted the two highest scores at any level of the men’s meet at the National Games on his way to six gold and one silver medal. Brittany Snider earned three gold medals, one silver and one bronze, and Lee Dockins, whom Fehrenbach will coach at the 2007 World Summer Games, earned four silvers and a bronze. Fehrenbach also coaches the Kentucky Elite Showcats Special Olympics cheerleading squad. The Showcats have been invited perform at Cheerleading Competitions throughout the county and Fehrenbach has helped to grow cheerleading as a sport in the Special Olympics program nationally.

Notes: Lee competed in gymnastics at the 2006 Special Olympics USA National Games in Ames, Iowa, where she won four silver and one bronze medal. She missed a gold medal by just .001 points. She was a four-year cheerleader at Logan County High School
What accomplishments make you most proud of yourself?: Being basketball homecoming runner-up and cheering at Logan County High School
How has Special Olympics changed your life?: It makes me feel special. I try to do my best in gymnastics. Gymnastics makes me happy.
What does attending World Games mean to you?: Being on Team USA makes me happy. It makes me proud of what I do and it is an honor.
