For the ninth consecutive year Special Olympics Kentucky will give one lucky person the chance to experience the open road on the back of a beautiful Harley-Davidson mortorcyle through the annual Harley-Davidson Raffle. Once again this year, the winner will have the option of a 2010 Harley-Davidson Super Glide Custom or $10,000 in cash. This year's motorcycle is a beautiful black.
Tickets in the raffle are just $10 each and can be purchased from Law Enforcement or Special Olympics volunteers throughout the state, at a number of selected festivals throughout the summer, at the 2010 Ride to Win or by contacting the Special Olympics Kentucky office at 800-633-7403 or 502-695-8222. You can also contact Breona Taul by e-mail at btaul@soky.org.
All proceeds from the raffle benefit Specia Olympics Programs throughout the state. For more information about how you can help out by selling tickets in your area, contact Breona at 800-633-7403 or btaul@soky.org.
Our thanks to Man O War Harley-Davidson in Lexington for their continued support of the Special Olympics Kentucky Harley Raffle.
Congratulations to 2009 Harley Raffle winner Danny White of Harrodsburg who will ride off on a brand new 2009 Harley-Davidson Super Glide Custom. Danny's ticket was drawn from the more than 4,600 tickets sold as part of the closing ceremonies at the 2009 Ride to Win on Saturday, August 1 at Man O War Harley-Davidson in Lexington.
And when Danny rushed to the Ride conclusion to get a glimpse of his new bike, it wasn't the first time he had visited the store. Danny had bought his ticket from Man O War Harley-Davidson just a few weeks before ... while he was buying a motorcycle. That didn't deter White when asked what he planned to do with his new prize.
"I'm going to keep it," he said after getting to the store. "I actually have three now. One I had but haven't sold yet the one I bought and now this one. But I am still going to ride it."
The ticket was drawn by Lexington Special Olympics athlete Levi Collins.
Our thanks to Man O War Harley-Davidson for their continued support of the Harley Raffle and to everyone who sold tickets on behalf of the organization. The 2009 Harley Raffle exceeded expectations and that couldn't have happened without the tremendous support the program receives from volunteers and ticket buyers statewide.
