2008 Party in the Park Set For May 16

Private Park Access One of the Highlights of thrilling evening

The night began with dinner and a short presentation in the Village Grove Picnic Area before the night's main event — access for guests to all of Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom's biggest, most thrilling attractions. The pre-party presentation included the introduction of the Lee Dockins, Special Olympic Athlete of the Year and recognition of the group representing Kentucky in the upcoming 2009 Special Olympic World Winter Games in Boise, Idaho.

As in years past, the park was divided into three sections with the group enjoying the park one section at a time. The biggest thrills came at the beginning of the night again as guests were able to ride Chang, T2 and the Thrill Karts in section one.

Section two included lots of excitement as well…Thunder Run, the Roller Skater for the younger folks and not to forget the crowd’s favorite treat, Dippin’ Dots!

The night's final section was all about the Cotton Candy, soaring through the air on the Sky Coaster, and enjoying a show at the Thrill Park Theatre.

Special Thanks to Catalyst and Bolt Action from Mom’s Music for providing entertainment in Area 2 and 3.

Dave KErchner and Lee DOckins
Special Olympics Kentucky president and CEO Dave Kerchner talks to 2007 Special Olympics Kentucky Athlete of the Year Lee Dockins at the Party in the Park.

Party in the Park participants, which included guests from some of the Louisville area's top companies as well as some of Special Olympics Kentucky's most dedicated volunteers, enjoyed the night to the fullest. As they exited the park, guest received a souvenir to remember the night by. Although it is sure to be one they never will forget.

Our thanks to everyone who made the success of the 2008 Six Flags Party in the Park possible, all of the 2008 Party in the Park sponsors and Party in the Park committee chair Jeff Edds of Morgan Keegan. We especially want to thank everyone at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom for hosting the event — Park President Andy M, Pam Laughhead and all of their tremendous staff.
