Louisville Ice Skater Roger Kappesser finished fourth in his division of the Men's Ice Skating Competition at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Nagano, Japan. Kappesser entered the free skate portion of the competition today in fourth place and was unable to make up ground for a bronze medal. He finished four points behind Maxim Gritsenko of Russia who won the bronze. David Mullalley of Canada won the gold medal in Kappesser's division, Michael Rodriguez of San Diego, Calif., took the silver.
Kappesser was the last of the two Kentuckians competing in the World Winter Games to finish competition at the event. Jeannie Luersen of Louisville won the gold medal in her division of the Women's Ice Skating competition yesterday.
