With the 2010 World Equestrian Games occupying the Kentucky Horse Park in early October, the State Equestrian Competition is on the move again. But at least it will land in a familiar home. It also returns to a Saturday date.

This year's event will take place Saturday, October 2, at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, Kentucky. The Shelby County Fairgrounds hosted the event for several years prior to the move to the Horse Park. The event is tentatively scheduled for a start time of 9 am.

More than 70 athletes from riding programs throughout the state are expected to compete.
