You must complete the general Volunteer/Coach Orientation Training and submit the quiz that follows it. This training is an introduction to and overview of the Special Olympics organization. The general Coach/Volunteer Orientation is necessary for all Class A Volunteers and is valid for a lifetime.
The safety of our athletes is of the utmost importance to Special Olympics Kentucky. With that in mind you MUST complete the Protective Behaviors Training. Results from this training will be routed to the SOKY state office for certification records. The objective of this training is prevention of sexual, physical and emotional abuse of Special Olympics athletes. The Protective Behaviors Training is necessary only for those interested in Class A Volunteer classification and is valid for three years.
If you have a group of 10 or more who need to take the Volunteer / Coach Orientation and would like to set up a local training, please contact Justin Harville at 800-633-7403 or via e-mail at email@example.com.
