Two basic types of volunteers help make the Special Olympics Kentucky program operate -- one-day event volunteers and certified volunteers.
One-day event volunteers play a vital role in every Special Olympics Kentucky competition or fundraising event. They work as times, event staging helpers and awards presenters at competitions and in a wide variety of roles at fundraising events.
Certified volunteers are those who serve in a more regular or long-term capacity. They include coaches, local coordinators, competition committee members, etc.
